Prof. Dr. med. Betz has been working as a surgical physician for over 30 years and performed over 30.000 musculoskeletal and postural operations.
He worked as a surgeon at the Bühl/Baden Clinic, the Bliestal Saar Clinics, the Surgical University Clinic Homburg/Saar and as managing senior physician at the Surgical Clinic and Policlinic of Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich. In 1993 he became a full university professor (C3) at the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich. Until 2001 he was senior physician and in charge of the Clinic for Accident Surgery, Hand Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Konstanz Klinikum.
From the beginning Prof. Dr. med. Betz concentrated on developing innovative therapies and methods in the field of corrective and reconstructive bone surgery. His research led to numerous patents such as the Fitbone-System. Extensive specialist publications can be found within the national and international press. Many years of practical experience in the field of reconstructive and orthopaedic surgery make him a desired guest at congresses and training courses locally and abroad.
He holds lectures at several academies and schools such as the Academy for Surgical Training run by the Association of German Surgeons.
